Several years ago, the New York City Board of Health passed a ban on the sale of large sugary beverages in restaurants, movie theaters, and street carts. The goal? To help curb the nation’s obesity problem. Opponents of the measure said that the ban could cause small businesses to lose money, or worse, restrict people’s choices about what they consume.
