What Is the Appropriate Voting Age?

Teenagers holding VOTE buttons >Young people’s rights and responsibilities range from driving at 16 to serving in the military at 18 and buying alcohol at 21. In 1971, the 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution lowered the voting age from 21 to 18, in response to concerns that 18-year-olds could be drafted to serve in the Vietnam War but could not vote. At what age do you think young people should be considered well-informed adults eligible to vote? Should the legal age be lowered still further to match the driving age, raised back to 21, or left as it is?
